They type "write me a sales email" and paste the mush into a CRM. The AI had nothing to work with — no product, no customer, no tone, no example. Good prompts give five things: your situation, the audience, the constraints, an example of your best work, and a specific ask.
Example: "I sell [product] to [customer type]. Build a one-page brief on [company], covering likely priorities, pains and three conversation openers. Under 200 words." This turns 20 minutes of research into 60 seconds.
The highest-leverage prompt a rep can save: "My customer says 'your price is too high'. I sell [product] to [customer type]. Give me three responses using Empathize–Acknowledge–Redirect, each under 40 words, in simple Indian English." Ten seconds, three usable responses.
Start every morning with: "Here's my pipeline: [paste deals with stages]. Build my top-5 call list for today, ordered by likelihood to move, one talking point each." Your day starts aimed instead of reactive.
